Speaking English fluently can make your dreams come true

Where it all started

Hey, my name is Csabi [you can pronounce it like the English word 'chubby'] - as the name suggests, I was born and raised in Hungary. I became a fluent, confident English speaker by the age of 20 without ever setting foot in an English-speaking country, and my entire business as an English fluency, learning and language anxiety coach is about teaching people how they can do exactly the same from the comfort of their home.

I grew up having girls as my best friends, and I was often bullied in school for being too feminine, not the braves, and for choosing books over playing with toy cars and climbing trees.

As a result, I became really shy. I couldn't show to the world my real personality because a lot of people didn't accept me that way, so I closed up.

I loved learning languages, I myself am from a small ethnically German small town so I got into learning languages at a very early stage. I studied English grammar and vocabulary as hard as I could, did all my homework, but I didn't have confidence because of my shyness.

The 3 things that helped me learn to speak English fluently

LOVING CHALLENGES

Challenges make you grow to be a better, more able and stronger person. Struggling English students make the biggest mistake by avoiding what's a tiny bit challenging, difficult or uncomfortable. There is a reason those things are challenging, they're helping you build a skill no one will ever be able to take from you.

When it comes to difficulty, my philosophy is: I prefer to go through the difficulty and take on the challenge now if I'm learning from that experience so I can have an easier, better, more improved life. It's so easy to get lost in today's day and age - social media, fast food, thousands of websites, emails selling us stuff, I chose to be the person who learns to appreciate the process, and do things consistently for future rewards: my proficient, fluent, confident English.

MAKE LEARNING FUN

I'm making sure every one of my classes and events inside my programme The Proficiency Fortress is fun. After all, we used to learn so much by enjoying what we're doing when we were kids. My ever increasing hunger for learning, for discovering more about the beautiful world we live in was one of my biggest driving force.

When you surround yourself with the right kind of people, there's no need to feel shy. It's always nerve-racking to have conversations in English first, you're constantly looking for the perfect word to use, you're also trying your best to understand your convo partner, and at the same time focus on pronouncing your words clearly - it's exhausting. But the more you do it, the better, more fluent you become at speaking, and the more pleasure you find if you're in a supportive environment.

COMMUNITY IS EVERYTHING

Part of my transformation from a shy boy into a social English fluency coach was my love for people, my intense passion for cultures. Humans are meant to learn from each other, everyone experiences the same issues in life as well as on this long English fluency journey.

I've learnt soooo much from people who have learnt English and became fluent speakers, and always work on building supportive international communities where English learners learn from each other and from how I experiences the challenges of learning English.

Your thoughts determine what's possible for you and your fluency

I'm the clear example of how someone, "simply" by changing their perpective, changing the way I thought about learning to speak English has become a fluent, confident English speaker.

I've visited 34 countries and counting (I'm sure I visit your country soon, too 🤩), learnt to speak English, German, French, Spanish and Japanese to a fluent level, and have built an English coaching business helping people learn more effectively, communicate with confidence and use those skills for their personal and professional development.

I'm happy to spread the word to you as well, and shout from the rooftops that YOU can be a fluent and confident English speaker if you really, really put your mind to it.
